Memoire d'Angkor Boutique Hotel

The room had been decorated with rose petals for our honeymoon, and my husband and I had a lovely stay. We could hear traffic from the nearby highway, especially at night when things got quieter, but we still loved our time there. Breakfast was a highlight, with a complete selection of fruit, coffee, salad, cereals, juice, and more. They made eggs to order and prepared local noodles for us too. One staff member was especially accommodating and connected with us, which I appreciated as someone who enjoys immersing myself in the culture.

The breakfast was amazing, with Western dishes and interesting Cambodian choices. It might be the best hotel breakfast I’ve had. The restaurant on site was very good too, with good Cambodian food, and the pool area looked lovely. Staff were helpful, and the laundry service was affordable. The rooms were large, though they could use better furnishings, like a desk, and some minor repairs are needed. Still, I had a nice stay.

We liked the lovely pool, though once we had to wait for a sunbed or chairs, and they sometimes ran short of pool towels. Little things, really. The buffet breakfast was extensive, with something for everyone, including food my gluten-free husband could enjoy. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the service was very good. Their laundry cost a bit more, but it was so well done that we felt it was worth it. Our room was nice and large, with a good bed and a mattress that wasn’t too hard. We did have some trouble getting hot water in the shower.

The junior suite was roomy and had the king bed and bathtub we paid extra for, but there was a giant wall right outside the window, so the room got no natural light. If a view matters to you, I’d pick a double room instead. It costs less and lets you enjoy the view. The rest of the hotel made a great impression: tastefully decorated and clean, with a large, well-kept pool area. Staff were exceptionally pleasant and helpful, and breakfast had options for both Western and Asian tastes. It’s close to Pub Street, a great spot for tourists to eat and party.
