Alliance Alizé Boutique Villa

Coming back from Angkor, it was handy to be only about a 10-minute walk from the city center, Pub Street, and the Night Markets. The hotel itself is small and cozy, with a friendly owner who speaks fluent English and can help with practical questions about Siem Reap or Cambodia. Staff were welcoming, the room was clean, and we liked having a private terrace for an evening drink. There’s also a charming bar and pool, a nice breakfast, and breakfast to take along for an Angkor Wat sunrise. It has a neat, hospitable feel, and you can still talk with the owner instead of feeling like one guest among many in a mega-resort. If you're on the fence, I'd say go for it.

The location worked well, around a five-minute walk from Pub Street, but far enough from the nighttime noise. My room was clean, comfortable, and nice, and the staff were fantastic. Breakfast was a basic choice of Asian or Western food and could be better. The new owner is still getting things sorted: my airport pickup got mixed up and never happened. Ben was very apologetic and made it up to me, so I'm sure it won't happen again. The timber pool loungers could use cushions; they were a bit uncomfortable.

We had a great short break here. The room was spacious and clean, with a large balcony, and the food was good. The bar by the pool was a highlight, especially with beer on tap. Owners were great, staff friendly, and the owner helped arrange trips. We explored Angkor Wat and the surrounding temples with Mr Moly’s Tuk Tuk. He drove slowly and carefully, and we'd recommend him too. Everything nightlife-wise, including bars and good places to eat, was within walking distance, while the hotel itself was in a quiet spot. For $6, the breakfast felt like very good value, and the pot of tea was included. I liked the homemade yoghurt, marmalade, and fruit salad alongside the fry-up. There weren't any hash browns, but the back bacon was good quality, and the sausage was the closest to a real one I've found in Cambodia. The atmosphere was nice, service was quick, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Very happy with it. I'll go again.
