Moon Asia Hotel Siem Reap

The staff were easygoing and really helpful. I found the room clean, comfortable, and very nice. A very nice place to stay in SiemReap, Cambodia. Recommend!!!!

About 700 USD went missing from the safe in my room. From the start, the person presented as the manager seemed suspicious to me. The actual manager appeared to be staying out of sight in the back office. When I came to reception earlier, the person there said he wasn't available and messaged that he'd meet me in the evening. After I insisted on speaking by phone, he said 1400, but he didn't show up then either. When he finally arrived, he said he'd reviewed the hotel's CCTV and hadn't seen anything suspicious. That didn't make sense to me: he'd been late and away from the hotel, so how could he have checked more than 48 hours of footage so quickly? The man who claimed to be the manager kept going into the back office for instructions from someone who wouldn't show their face. He said he wouldn't call the police, and that only staff had entered my room. I assumed one of them had taken the money. He also called me a liar, saying I had only my word to support the claim. I asked for reimbursement, but he said it wasn't possible because he had no proof anything was stolen, let alone proof of the amount. I wanted to know what would be credited to my account because I planned to check out early. He avoided answering for two hours, then said he could do it. After more insistence, he acted as though he was calling the police, then told me I had to go to the station, 25 minutes away, to make a complaint. They had tuk tuks available for customers and cars, but he didn't offer me a ride there. I also found that the same hotel had different names. Was that to avoid reviews? When I checked the CCTV, I saw six staff members, including the supposed manager, cleaning the room for 43 minutes. Some cleaning job.

The room had hot water, a bathtub, air conditioning, and a hair dryer. Shampoo and body cleanser were there too, though you have to work out which is which. The outdoor pool was nice, and breakfast was good.

I had a comfortable stay and the service was excellent. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, especially a waitress at the Restaurant who made me a special coffee. Thanks so much to Mr. Tin for your hospitality. I hope to come back.
