The hotel is a little way from downtown, though getting there by tuk-tuk or taxi is easy. We were welcomed with a cold towel and a tasty cup of moringa tea, then shown to our room and given a tour of the attached farm. They said some of the vegetables used in the kitchen come from there. Phea at the front desk was especially friendly and helpful, and we found the whole team, from the chef to the janitorial staff, just as kind. It feels like quiet luxury in an otherwise ordinary Cambodian neighborhood.

The team made my stay at Moringa Tree Maison feel special, arranging tours and going the extra mile. I spent 3 days and 2 nights there, surrounded by greenery, and with just six rooms it felt peaceful and laid-back. The restaurant gets greens and fruit from the on-site farm, and both the thoughtful menu and food were so good. Great wine selection, too, with good prices. Next door, an NGO runs The Cape School, offering children free education and meals, and free housing for locals. I volunteered with the nutrition program and found it really meaningful. I’d love to come back, volunteer again, and help build houses in the local village. You have my heart, I’ll be back soon.

What made the experience especially fulfilling was feeling connected to the community and able to make a real contribution. The local volunteer program was fascinating and offered some unique experiences, and the hotel where volunteers stay was beautiful, with lovely views, comfortable rooms, and high-quality facilities. Everything seemed carefully thought out, giving the place a relaxed, welcoming feel. The hosting staff were caring, friendly, and always willing to help. From my first conversation with the team, I felt part of something bigger. They explained the program, its aims, and the difference we could make locally. I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to contribute, learn, and enjoy the experience. If you’re after volunteering, time to relax, and wonderful people, this program brings those together.

I took my mum on this trip, and we volunteered to build a house. It’s a lifetime memory. You can book just a stay or add volunteering, and both options are great. We chose the volunteer option to immerse ourselves in the culture and give back to the community. I’d worried the days might be packed with volunteering and too regimented, but the pace was good and we still had enough time to ourselves. The rooms were clean, with white sheets, and there was room service and staff on site. There are two restaurants, one with a pizza oven. We loved making Moringa noodles together, volunteering, seeing the sights, and still having a proper holiday and time to bond. Highly recommend.

We spent 3 nights here with our 9-month-old baby, a perfect way to finish our time in Siem Reap. We liked the quiet outside the city center after some hectic days in town, and the ride in by tuktuk was only about 20 minutes. The hotel offers tours and cooking classes, and has two restaurants. Everything felt carefully considered, from the food and room to the surroundings and rooftop pool. The people were incredible and the service was wonderful. We loved it all and hope to return someday. All the best from our little family.
