Naga Angkor Hotel

The location worked really well, with easy access north to Angkor and south to downtown. Our back room was quiet, with no traffic noise, and had a small table and chair that came in handy for laptop work. The rooftop is open and a nice place to watch the sunset without going anywhere. The staff are lovely, friendly, and helpful. It’s an old hotel, and the wear shows: holes in the sheets, peeling paint, and plenty of nicks and dents. That’s cosmetic, though. The rooms are simple but sufficient, the air conditioning works, the shower has hot and cold water, and the bed is comfortable. The pillows are almost like sandbags. For the money, it’s fantastic value, a good place to sleep but nothing fancy. There’s no elevator, just a narrow metal spiral staircase. Also, the cats need to be spayed and neutered.

The room didn’t look anything like the pictures. When I checked in, they had no keycard to switch on the power and couldn’t do anything about it because I’d paid on agoda. The room was unclean and really uncomfortable, with no electricity.

The room was cramped at only 20 square meters, and there was no comfort to make up for it. The bedding was stained, the room was filthy, and the atmosphere felt oppressive. To me, the dirt made it a health hazard. The price was also hard to accept, since I’ve stayed in luxurious hotels with five-star service for less. From the moment I came in, the place smelled strongly of neglect and decay. The facilities seemed decrepit and crumbling, and I found them hazardous, with grime coating everything. The conditions at this Naga Hotel were far below what I expected. I’d tell people to avoid this disgusting place. You deserve much better.

The rooms are clean, but they’re absolutely not soundproof. It felt like sharing a room with the neighbors, and the bathroom was small and basic. Still, the quality for the price is top. I strongly recommend booking a temple visit to Angkor Wat. I took the half-day tour and thought it was wonderful, and Naga Angkor can help arrange it.
