Shining Angkor Hotel Apartment

The place was clean and tidy, beautifully decorated, and in a good spot. Staff were friendly, too. The pool water had a lot of chlorine, though, and people smoked around us both there and in the restaurant. Breakfast was okay, not especially good, and our fridge hadn't been turned on. There was also a lot of construction underway at the time, 6/12/15.

Kim was a real highlight. He was cheerful, helpful, full of information, got us an early check-in for the fee required by hotel policy, and even offered a higher-floor room if we didn't like ours. The room had very few mosquitoes, and each bed had a net. The other staff were friendly and attentive, too, so the stay was good, though I'm only about 50/50 on coming back because there wasn't much to do and I didn't enjoy the food or pool much. It's a small hotel, and the pool is tiny. I never saw anyone use it during my stay. The hotel food was all right but pricey for Cambodian food, so I'd choose somewhere else. At the corner to the right, a few restaurants and street vendors sell good $1 plates. In the restaurant, the woman barely paid attention, put on Cambodian soaps without asking what we wanted to watch, and had us listen while eating. The food and pool weren't much to my taste.

The rooms were spotless and had everything we needed. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the staff were so nice and available whenever we had a concern.

A sweet little hotel, with a great breakfast. The receptionist in her lovely traditional outfit was especially kind and helpful. We had our own Tuk-tuk driver to take us around to all the temples. I'd definitely recommend it.
