Sojourn Boutique Villas

We ended up eating dinner here twice instead of heading back into Siem Reap because the food was so good. The staff are friendly, and we enjoyed chatting with other guests about restaurants and places to see. The cottage-style buildings are clean and roomy, set back nicely from the pool. It’s a peaceful spot a little way from Siem Reap’s bustle, and a great place to come back to after a day out exploring.

The food was the best we had in Cambodia, and the destination dining was a delicious experience too. I also tried a massage and facial at the spa and wished I’d had time for more treatments. Our room was lovely, decorated with fresh flowers, and the staff were warm and helpful. We hired a hotel driver for a day at Angkor wat. He brought cold water, then had chilled lemongrass-scented towels ready when we got back. I’d happily return.

The peaceful atmosphere was a real highlight, with chanting from a nearby monastery. The bungalows are spacious and arranged around a swimming pool, and the staff were lovely and helpful. Food choices were a bit limited, but everything we had was tasty and freshly made. It’s on the edge of Siem Reap, about a 10-minute tuk-tuk ride to the center. We found it a good base for seeing the town and temples, and would definitely recommend it.

I joined a cooking class with my husband and got a tour of the property, though we didn’t stay here as hotel guests. The class was fantastic. It was just the two of us, and we met a local family down the street and learned about their life. The place is a beautiful, secluded little oasis, with separate bungalows around a nice pool. You can’t really walk into downtown Siem Reap from here, but the staff are so friendly that I’d absolutely consider staying on a return trip.
