Villa Um Theara - Siem Reap

The daytime man at the front desk gave us the best service we’ve had so far. Whenever we wanted the pool, he set up the parasol and sun beds and brought over towels. Such a lovely, helpful guy. The rooms were beautiful and really clean, and the location made it easy to walk to busier areas for food and drinks. We stayed three nights, had no complaints, and would definitely come back. A little gem.

It’s very good value, with clean rooms, helpful staff, and the riverside market close by. The one thing that bothered me was the key operated circuit breaker. When you leave the room it shuts off all the power, including the fridge and outlets, so drinks aren’t cold in the evening and you can’t charge your phone while you go out for a snack.

The WiFi was the main drawback. We couldn’t get a decent signal in our room, though there was a small seating space on the 1st floor where it worked. The room was cleaned daily and came with fresh towels, occasional water bottles, and good air conditioning. The shower and toilet are in a wet room setup, and some shelves, hooks, or storage would be useful. Staff were friendly, laundry was available, and there are good restaurants within walking distance. It was easy to book a Grab from the hotel for places farther away. I didn’t use the pool. Handy base for exploring Siem Reap.

We had a comfortable, clean, nicely sized room, and it was regularly cleaned. The staff were friendly and helped us arrange a tuk tuk driver for angkor wat and get our laundry done. Having a pool was great, especially with towels provided, and the sun loungers were really comfortable. The location is brilliant, with lots of restaurants down the road. Loved this hotel.
