The tuk tuk drivers arranged at the front desk were my one problem. They dropped me about 5 km from where I wanted to go, charged three times the quoted amount, and couldn’t be bothered to collect me later. I don’t think that’s a reflection of the hotel, but be careful when arranging a ride there. Otherwise, this place is a real gem. The staff are hospitality students who take their work seriously, and nearly everyone speaks very good English. They’re glad to help with rentals, tours, recommendations, and more. The rooms have a few rough edges, but for the price they’re better than expected: AC, a fridge with beer, Coke and mineral water, a well-equipped bathroom, balconies, and good Wi-Fi for video calls or remote work. There are two fairly deep pools, about 5 ft / 152 cm, and the on-site restaurant serves excellent food and cocktails at a good price. If you’re French, or were promised something many years ago, you might not like it here. For everyone else, it’s a great find.

Dara and his team made sure we had everything we needed, checking in with us each day to see if we were happy. The bar fridge was stocked with water, soft drinks, and beer, and we had daily breakfast, poolside cocktails, and laundry service. We arrived as strangers and left feeling like part of this lovely family. It’s extremely central, so we’ll definitely be back ❤️

The staff are the real highlight, from reception to breakfast. They’re always trying to help and greet you whenever you pass. Breakfast is more than enough before heading out, with rotating fried rice, noodles or potatoes, vegetables, fruit, juice, and an egg station. It’s a quiet, cozy hotel close to Old Market and Pub street. Our first room had an AC problem, and when they couldn’t fix it, they moved us promptly to a better room. The room itself is perfectly serviceable: a comfy bed, hot water shower, and a few other basics. Don’t expect five-star luxury at a three-star price. I’d recommend it if you want a quiet place near town and are fine giving up a few luxuries.

River side and pub street are just a five-minute walk away, and tuk tuk drivers are usually waiting outside if you want to go somewhere. The hotel is a bit older, but the location and the friendly, helpful staff are great. Breakfast was good each morning, with eggs made to order and some other buffet items. It’s nice to see the hotel supporting young trainees starting out in hospitality. There’s a pool with a bar beside it, and I’d recommend staying here whether you’re on your own, with a partner, or with family. I found it on booking.com.

The one downside was mosquitoes, though that’s an issue across the city. Otherwise, we loved our affordable stay. The hotel is green and has pools, and breakfast in the morning was lovely. They’ll even pack breakfast at 4:30 if you’re heading out to see the early morning Angkor Sunrise. Everyone was so welcoming and eager to help us plan trips nearby, arrange a tuktuk, rent a bike, or get local suggestions. The hospitality was warm, and I liked that the place employs local people and gives them opportunities. I’d highly recommend it.
