Twin Palms Resort

The included breakfast was first class, and the hotel is only a five-minute walk from Otres beach. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, with a large bathroom, and the pool area looks lovely. The tiles around it get dangerously slippery when wet, though. There were lots of mosquitoes while we were there, so the place needs fogging. Dinner was okay, but three courses took three hours; the very nice restaurant next door is a better option. We had a very good stay and would come back.

The pool is big and pleasant, and the hotel grounds are nice. Breakfast leans toward Asian food, though there are also toast, cereal, muesli and eggs. Our toilet wouldn't flush. We reported it in the morning, again during the day, and once more that evening. Each time they said they'd fix it, and after the third complaint they moved us to another room. Service could be better generally, as staff didn't always seem keen to help. At checkout, they simply said goodbye without asking if we needed a ride.

Otres beach is the one good thing about the location. The resort feels very old, and our room was dirty, with some lamps not working. The air conditioner barely cooled the room. What I booked and what I got were completely different, and I'm very dissatisfied with what I paid for.

Getting around from here is easy, and the bed is comfortable.
