Ramada By Wyndham St Kitts Resort

Kimberly was the best part of our stay. She seemed to be the one keeping things running, and we really liked her. The front desk, though, showed very little hospitality. The resort was almost empty, with maybe two other groups there, and although the extra charge for guests beyond the four-person limit was understandable, they charged us the wrong amount. Anika at the front desk wouldn’t honor the quote and said in front of the employee who made the mistake that it would come out of his pay if we didn’t pay. There’s a real management problem, and they weren’t accommodating. For the price and what you get, stay at the Marriot. Kimberly is the only reason I’m giving two stars instead of one.

The staff were friendly and the food was really good, but Ramada St. Kitts is at the top of my DO NOT GO LIST. The internet was terrible, and water was often off in the mornings and at night when we got back from partying, so showering wasn’t possible. One morning we had no water for several hours. I stayed four nights. On the first day there was a strong sewage smell in the room. The manager offered to move me or send housekeeping. I’d already unpacked, so I asked them to clean it up. The housekeeping supervisor spent some time in the bathroom and got rid of the smell, but it kept coming back on and off for the next three days, with no fix from staff or management. The shower also didn’t drain properly, leaving water sitting there. Before my next bath, I had to physically push the water from the previous shower toward the drain. Ramada in St. Kitts is like a pig in a blanket.

The Lotus Restaurant property is beautiful, and the customer service was a solid 10. I was skeptical after reading the reviews, but decided to try it myself and wasn’t disappointed. The food was tasty, too. They got my order wrong, but had another plate out in under 15 minutes, and the chef brought it over with an apology. I’ll definitely go back. My only change would be to use less soy sauce as garnish. I’d have preferred to pour my own, since soy sauce is usually high in sodium. That cost it one point. Otherwise, awesome!

The rooms in the villa are huge, and the villa itself is big. We had a really nice time at the pool, and both breakfast and dinner were very nice. The service staff were attentive and helpful, so the stay was really nice all in all. It’s a new hotel at the time of writing, and there are still some touch-ups to do and services to tighten up. I can’t wait until it’s fully built out. I’d recommend it to people looking to get away. It’s out in “the country,” which works well for that.
