Oualie Beach Resort

I liked the resort's location, but the room left me very disappointed, especially for the nightly rate. On January 22, while getting ready for dinner, I stepped in water leaking from under the bed and reported it to the front desk. It seemed fixed when I returned, but the next morning, January 23, I stepped in water again. There were also flying ants on the bed and floor that day, and I showed staff photos and video. I had booked four nights but left after two. Since these problems weren't my fault, I felt I should be refunded for the two unused nights. I checked out on January 23, before both the scheduled checkout date and that day's checkout time, but they wouldn't return the unused funds. I spoke respectfully and wasn't loud, just very disappointed with the room and their refusal. I don't recommend this resort.

We ended up staying there unexpectedly, and the staff were super helpful. The mattress was incredible. I haven't slept that long in years! Breakfast was great, especially the coconut scones and coffee, and the conch chowder and Mahi Mahi were delicious. We'd stay again.

The beach is lovely for swimming, and it's fun to watch the harbor activity from this nice little beachfront resort. Oualie has its quirks and probably won't suit everyone, but I'd have rated it 4.3 stars if I could.

This place has a bit of magic to it. Everyone is so nice, and the food is amazing. I just had a Thai massage with Amanda, and you should definitely give this kind a try if you're staying here. You won't be disappointed, promise! My trip isn't even over, but I had to write a review.
