The only snag for us was that nearby restaurants shut at 18.00 in the low season. The hotel itself is a destination, just outside Hahoe village. It’s made up of several old-style Korean buildings and separate tea houses, with modern bathrooms mixed in. The owner has filled the place, including the breakfast room, with Korean artifacts, and will tell you about them if you ask. Much recommended for a Hahoe visit, and don't miss the mask dance, it's great fun.

We were there during a scorching summer, and General Manager Jun and his team treated us like honored guests. He shared useful advice for exploring Hahoe village, and the team arranged a wonderful meal for us. The atmosphere, the warm service, and the cultural experience and learning made this hotel easy to recommend.

I was told it took 17 years to build this hotel. My late-November stay was really nice, and the Jimjilbang is a must. I'd definitely recommend it to foreigners visiting Korea. :)

The Korean breakfast was a highlight for me, with rice, kimchi, side dishes, and beef bulgogi. Our ondol floor beds were comfortable, and the linen felt cosy and luxurious. The room’s period furniture and traditional buildings made the stay feel immersive, while the bathroom was modern, clean, and had good water pressure. We were welcomed warmly, and as Western visitors with limited Korean, we felt well looked after. Rakkojae Hahoe Hanok hotel is either a five-minute bus ride or a 30-minute walk from UNESCO listed Hahoe Folk village. It was one of the best parts of our trip.

The complimentary breakfast was really good, and the service was top notch. The complex and its buildings are beautiful, with spacious, spotless, comfortable rooms. I'd absolutely stay again and check out their other locations too.
