Daebudo Athene Pension

I booked the Yellow/Spa room for 170,000 won, and that felt like money wasted. Around 120,000 won would have seemed fair to me. There were just four towels, and although the room had a spa tub, it came without the related supplies. I had to bring my own bubble bath and bath salts, but nobody explained that beforehand. There were mirrors only in the first-floor bathroom and the second-floor bedroom, which made it awkward to dry my hair after showering.

The bedding was the best part, especially the soft, fluffy microfiber duvet. One of the two heated mattress pads may have been broken and didn't work, though the heating itself was good, so I think I slept well. During the day, waking up to the tide coming in is lovely. From outside, this beachside pension looks neat and pretty, and inside it had what we needed. But some of the furniture was old, there were missing bulbs, and the clock had stopped. The small TV sits off to the side, so it would be disappointing to come here for movies. The outdoor barbecue area is private and separate, with a tidy plastic-covered table and enough heater and radiator warmth. The lighting there could be better for grilling. It's a duplex, and the stairs are so steep and creaky that climbing them feels a bit scary. They could be difficult for women to manage.

Such a pretty pension, and the owner's really kind.
