The tents are tucked into a peaceful mountainside, though getting there meant passing lots of kalguksu and sashimi restaurants, so the approach felt a little hectic. For our family’s first glamping trip, we came to CL Glamping on Daebudo Island to celebrate a birthday and enjoy the nice weather. Our room was clean, had the basic kitchen utensils, and stayed warm with the refrigerator and air conditioner serving as a heater. The owner got the charcoal going and prepared a bonfire. We made s’mores with marshmallows and biscuits with the kids, and shared some birthday cake with the owner. It turned into a really happy first trip. We’ll definitely come back! 😁

There’s a freezer for drinks, so no need to bring one along. The pool is fun for kids, though the water is shallow. The tent has a bit of mold, but inside it’s cleaner than I expected. Noise continued after 10 p.m., which was disappointing.

The place is roomy, but the service wasn’t very welcoming. They charged 50,000 won per person even for friends who only dropped by briefly. I also asked about putting in a tip and was told they’d give it to me because so many people were checking in, but they never did. What was that about? If they’re taking people’s money, they could at least be a bit friendlier. I wouldn’t go back.

The owner is nice, and the facilities are decent. There should be more pots and pans, and another sink by the lower tents would be useful. Being able to kayak in the pool when it’s cold is great.

I enjoyed the barbecue, and since there weren’t many loud guests, I slept comfortably. The place has a nice feel for a first glamping trip. They do warn that sound carries and ask guests to keep quiet after 10 p.m., but how that goes probably depends on who’s there that night. I couldn’t get through by phone when I called with a question, which was inconvenient.
