Anyang Donkey Hotel

I booked three nights through Expedia and expected to stay in the room during the day. When I arrived, though, the hotel said weekend and public holiday guests had to leave from noon until 8 PM so they could host daytime guests. I spent two drizzly days outside because of that rule, which hadn't been part of what I understood when booking. The staff said Expedia was separate from the hotel's booking system, so they hadn't known about my reservation. On the final day I objected, and they demanded another 20,000 won for daytime use. They insisted Expedia's terms allowed this and asked why I was making a fuss when everyone else paid. When I asked where the term was, they pointed to a clause about an extra fee at the hotel's discretion for two or more occupants. I couldn't understand how they read that into the clause. When I called it fraudulent, they told me to leave at once and called me strange. On my last night I felt threatened, worried that they might send gangsters to open the door with a master key and commit a crime. Expedia contacted me and I explained what had happened. As a Korean expatriate traveling in Korea, it was the worst hotel experience I've had.

The rooms are clean and kept in good shape. Location, price, and friendly service are all great.

Clean rooms and a handy location make this good value. I think it's the best spot around Anyang 1st Street.
