Hidden Cliff Hotel & Nature

Those sunset-facing rooms have full-length windows looking out over Jeju’s oreum, while the cliff-view rooms face the pool and pick up its music during swimming hours, especially at night-club time. From the 7th floor, though, the outlook takes in Hallasan, rolling hills, the ocean, sunrise and sunset. The streets nearby feel leafy, clean and shady, and most major Jungmun attractions are within 4 km, around 5-6 AUD by cab. Breakfast gets plenty of sun in the open restaurant, with Jeju pork sausage, English Breakfast tea and good milk. The cliff-top pool surrounded by greenery is unusual, and aside from cleaning breaks and night-club time, when entry costs 10 AUD, you can use it freely. There are quirky little corners around the place that suit its “Nature” name. The restaurant’s hot water and coffee station feels cramped, and the floating timber floor needs care underfoot. Nearby dining is limited, though the places about 10 minutes away are known, good value and full of character. There’s a small shop in the hotel and a larger convenience store close by, handy for ice cream.

I was really hungry, so I ended up paying extra to get into breakfast, even though my hotel fee was supposed to include it. I arrived during breakfast hours, but reception said I had to check in first, and check-in was after 11am, by which time the buffet had ended. It felt like I was paying for nothing. Check the pricing carefully before booking.

Mrs Lee and Mr An understood the issues we had and were very helpful throughout our stay. They communicated in English, and thanks to their help we had no concerns. We had a great time at the hotel.

The staff weren't very welcoming. The rooms were clean and spacious, though the furniture looked like it had seen better days.
