Really bad service. Don’t come back here. There’s garbage everywhere and it smells like dead animals. Just awful. 🤢👎

Avoid this place. It feels more like a run-down inn than a hotel. The room was in terrible shape, and the mold smell was suffocating. I had to switch rooms because the air conditioning didn’t work, but the cleaning hadn’t been done, and I found a toilet covered in mold. While I was showering, black water came back up through the drain. They didn’t fix anything and just told me to wait. The bathroom cord was down too. This was the worst.

I stayed one night yesterday to see the autumn foliage at Baekyangsa Temple. The tourist hotel seems poorly maintained, and the service from the only front desk employee, a man in his early 60s, was poor. I wouldn’t recommend it. The room key made opening the door a real struggle, and there was no closet. They’d put a hanger on the wall where the mirror used to be, which is a pathetic way to ask guests to hang their clothes. The glass shower booth also seemed installed without thinking about guest safety. I worry someone could bump into it and get hurt. Treat it as a one-night stop on the way to Baekyangsa Temple. Otherwise, there are plenty of clean places near the temple entrance, and I’d recommend choosing one of those.

I went three times in March 2024. Places to stay in Jangseong were really bad, and this was the only one people said was decent. It’s old, but not too dirty or cramped. Still, wow, worst ever. I’d stay at Cheongdan in Gwangju instead. The room was warm, actually super hot, and a towel laid out to sleep on dried completely. That was a relief. The price was 70,000 won, and they use a key rather than a card. You can hear the next room clearly, though I couldn’t really hear the room above, if there were guests. The shower water barely comes out. On the 4th floor it’s hard to wash, on the 3rd you can wash, and on the 2nd there’s a bit more water, but it sprays wherever it wants.
