The room was kept clean, and the bed got fresh linens each day. I liked the more upscale feel, too. There’s plenty of shopping and convenience stores nearby. They have laundry, a microwave, a large TV, water, tea, and a breakfast buffet for about 19,000 won. One catch: Google listed stroller hire, but the hotel doesn’t offer it.

The room I booked was a modern deluxe twin, but I was put in an accessible room with a toilet that looked nothing like the one shown during reservation. I paid extra for that booking, and for the same money I could have found a better room elsewhere. I even asked the front desk if I could pay more to upgrade, but they couldn’t offer me anything. They shouldn’t accept a reservation for a room that isn’t available and then assign whatever’s left. What was the point of paying more for a little extra comfort? I was very disappointed.

The bowling alley on the 5th floor is loud enough that its thumping carries up to the 6th, since the soundproofing is poor. I was in Room 602, an accessible room, so I understood there wouldn’t be a separate wet and dry area. But the strong smoke smell was completely unacceptable. When I told the front desk, they brushed it off by saying the hotel was full. Booking.com still showed rooms available, though, and after our tour guide helped us speak up, a room suddenly opened the next day, even though they’d said the day before there were none. It felt like they were taking advantage of foreign guests. Think twice before booking. Even one star feels generous.

The room was way too warm, and they couldn’t do anything about it. Since it was winter, the system was stuck on heat and I couldn’t adjust the temperature. DO NOT STAY HERE. Worst hotel in the world.

I slept really well, the beds were so comfortable. You can hear people in the next room through the fairly thin walls, though. Still, it felt cozy.
