Grand Motel

The bathroom was my one real drawback. It has a toilet, shower, and tub, but the lighting is dim and a little eerie. At night the water temperature changed suddenly, so showering was difficult, though it was easier to get steady warm water later in the morning. The rooms have heaters and heated mats that kept us warm in winter. There’s a mini fridge restocked daily with two bottles of water, and the towels were changed each day. The motel is tucked into the back streets of BIFF, right by Nampo Station, just around the corner from a fried food place, four floors up. You’re close to shopping and lively street food markets, with a 24-hour CVS nearby, but far enough from the noisy nightlife to sleep well. The staff were wonderfully kind and helpful. The host welcomed us, gave us a map of the area, detailed directions to popular tourist spots and their operating hours, and took care of anything we needed during the stay. I’d come back.

The room and ensuite were more spacious and comfortable than I expected, and the Wi-Fi was reasonable throughout. It’s an old, worn place, though. The free breakfast is just a loaf of bread, butter, and a toaster for you to use yourself. There are a few bars on the street, so you’ll hear noise until midnight, after which it gets quiet quickly. For a budget stay I’d come again, but I’d bring earplugs.

I’m back for my second stay and still like it here. It’s family run and simple, but the service is friendly. Shops, restaurants, markets, and tourist spots are all very close.

The location is great, with lots of restaurants and a shopping street close by. The receptionist was very helpful and shared information about sightseeing nearby and around Busan.
