Park Hyatt Busan

The rooms are roomy and quiet, and the blackout curtains make for a good night's sleep. Staff were polite and helpful throughout. The hotel is a tall building in the marina area, with good views in several directions, and it delivers the consistently excellent experience I’d expect from a Park Hyatt. The 22 metre pool is nice, though you’ll need a bathing cap because caps are compulsory. Meeting facilities are also high quality.

The room’s hardwood floor was lovely, and even though we booked at the last minute over a holiday and couldn’t get an ocean-view room, we were happy with our view of the harbor, city, and mountains. The room itself isn’t especially large, but it’s laid out thoughtfully, with double sinks, a separate shower and bathtub, a walk-through closet, and a separate toilet room. The floor-to-ceiling windows help open it up. It’s a beautiful hotel, and I think it may be the best-designed one I’ve stayed in in Busan, even though it isn’t right on the beach.

We spent a weekend here with the whole family and had a great view over the bay. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the gym was one of the best I’ve seen in a hotel, close to XCaret in Cancun. The main attractions are a bit out of the way, but getting around Korea is generally easy. I’d come back when we’re in the area.

The food was some of the best I’ve had, and the omelet is especially worth trying. Service was quick and attentive without hovering, while the spotless property and striking view made it easy to stop and take everything in. The gym was clean and well equipped too, so I could get a solid workout. I highly recommend it.
