Ramada Encore by Wyndham Haeundae

The adjacent streets are great for shopping, cheap eats, and taking photos, and many attractions are within walking distance. Ramada encore is good and fairly well located. The separate elevators for different groups of floors are the one hassle.

The room was a good fit for one double and one single bed, though it wasn't very big. Encore is just steps from the metro station, and getting there from Gimhae airport took over an hour by metro. It's right in front of Haeundae's busiest street, with lots of restaurants downstairs and a crowded food street serving local specialties like the ones in Myeongdong Seoul. Haeundae Beach is a few minutes' walk away. The lifts can take a long time when a big group is checking in, since all guests have to go up to the lobby on the second floor.

The room didn't come with a toothbrush or toothpaste, so bring your own. It was chilly outside in spring, and they wouldn't let me turn on the room's air conditioning. I had to open the windows to cool the room, which let in more road noise and made it hard to sleep. It felt like I had to choose between being hot and putting up with the traffic noise. The front desk said they could turn on my AC tomorrow, but why wait until tomorrow? That rule is ridiculous. Housekeeping was also hard to reach by phone. This didn't feel like Wyndham Hotel standard, more like a budget hotel or worse.

I stayed here from April 2 to April 5, and on the night of April 4 I noticed my Apple Watch was missing. I never took it outside the hotel, but my phone showed its location in a residential area, which really worries me. After checking out, I also realized I had left behind a small pouch with luxury accessories worth over NT$100,000. The hotel said nothing had been found in my room, including the massage ball I clearly remember leaving on the bed and not taking with me. That makes the response hard to believe. I emailed again and got no reply. Instead, they told me to wait two days and call back after the next guest checked out. I also lost a small bag of designer items during those two days, and the hotel still said it had found nothing. Its handling of this has been unhelpful and unacceptable. I expect a proper investigation and explanation. Think carefully before booking.
