Chungju With Stay Hotel

The owner is friendly and entertaining, and the rooms are both clean and spacious. The lobby's on the small side, but there's always coffee and drinks. The narrow elevator has a bit of a European feel.

The owners and staff were helpful and really nice, and there was free coffee and drinks in the lobby. The location worked well for getting around too: tourist spots were within a 15-minute walk, the bus stop, including the airport bus, was about five minutes away, and a taxi to the airport cost around 15,000 won. I switched here after a very bad stay at YAJA next door, and was worried the other places in the area would be just as bad. WITH STAY turned out much better than YAJA, so I was comfortable staying three nights. My room was spacious and clean, with no unpleasant smell in the room or bathroom, though there was a faint smoke odor. The bed was quite comfortable and mostly clean, with a few small stains visible on close inspection. The main downsides were weak bathroom water pressure and no separate shower area.

It was easy to get to, and the location was convenient, though the area felt dark at night. My room was clean. The one I booked had a shower only.

I've stayed at pretty much every place around Cheongju, and With Stay is my favorite. Even the Standard room felt larger than some other places' Premium or VIP rooms. Coming in, it felt fresh and pleasant, unlike the stuffy feeling I've had at places in this humid weather. I wasn't there to drink a lot, but at other hotels I've sometimes felt watched for taking even one lobby drink. Here they told me to help myself, which made me feel at ease. I'll definitely come back, owner~~~~~~
