Hotel Museo

The photos give the wrong impression. The hotel is very dark, with very little lighting. I was on the 11th floor, and thankfully there was a full-length window at the end of the corridor, otherwise it would have been too dark. The toilet lights are on a timer and periodically switch off at the worst moments. That’s a hazard for elderly guests and scary for young children. There are steps up and down into the shower area, no hooks anywhere in there for clothes or towels, and no shower door. There was no hand towel or soap by the toilet sink either, so my wet hands dripped all the way to the shower area while I looked for a hand towel. Amenities are bare minimum: just two bottles of body soap and shampoo, plus a tiny wedge of soap. No body cream, hand soap, toothbrush, or comb. Maybe the hotel is going for a funky, unique avant-garde vibe, but guests’ comfort didn’t seem to get enough priority.

The train station is close, and there are plenty of shops right beside the hotel. Inside, the rooms feel roomy and classy, with decor that could pass for a 4- or 5-star room and a big sunken bathtub. The staff were helpful too. A great boutique hotel.

The sweet potato latte was especially tasty, and the coffee in general was good. I also really liked the interior design. Everything feels very modern, and the rooms are great.

The room was lovely, but breakfast let it down a bit. My American breakfast arrived cold.
