The owner spoke to me informally and had guests do her own tasks, as if she couldn’t be bothered. I was taken aback. The listing said cooking was allowed, but only after arriving did I learn that grilling meat indoors wasn’t permitted. The TV signal was weak, and the bathroom was needlessly big. It was Christmas, so the price was high, though there were plenty of rooms available. The place smelled musty from poor upkeep, and I got out of bed to sleep on the floor. It was my first time paying to sleep on the floor at a pension, and surprisingly, I liked it enough to want to do it again.

The owner was friendly, and the place was clean and pleasant. There’s a CU convenience store about a five-minute walk away. Too bad there isn’t a microwave.

The pension has lovely, tidy scenery. The turquoise grass is kept up like a golf course, and the big swimming pool is satisfying.
