Daegu Dongdaegu Station Love Way

Japanese backpackers seem to like this place. It’s showing its age, but it’s mostly clean and good value. You get towels, bathrobes, drinks and WiFi, and there’s a microwave in the lobby. They also provide small beauty amenities. EVs are available, which helps if you’ve got large suitcases. Restaurants are a minute away on foot, the supermarket takes about five minutes, and the old Geunggogae subway station is around seven minutes away. Dongdaegu Station and the bus stop are close too, and the airport is under 30 minutes away. There’s noise almost all day, with a main road and highway out front and a station, tracks and parking lot behind. Even with the door locked, construction noise carried on late at night, so it was hard to get a good night’s sleep. Rates also differ depending on whether you pay cash or by card. Added April 2019: The station construction noise had stopped, but roadwork had started, so there was still some construction noise. I’m not sure if they’d tightened the check-in rules, but when I arrived at 3 pm they asked for an extra 5,000 won. For 30,000 won, the stay was from 6 pm to 10 am the next morning.

For 35,000 won, the accommodation included two small cups of ramen and four drinks. The bathroom was a little spotless, but the service was excellent for the price.

The location and room condition are decent, but they ripped off drunk customers.
