Dongdaegu Station Eastern Hotel

The breakfast had a good variety, and the room was clean and spacious. It’s about a ten-minute walk from the station, but the area is quiet. A handy extra was the electric wardrobe that cleans clothes. In our triple room, though, the lights couldn’t be controlled separately for each side, they were either on or off together. The air conditioner faced the double bed and didn’t cool the front part of the room where the single bed was, so that bed felt stuffy.

We had a private enclosed balcony with a table and a couple of chairs, and the room was excellent. Breakfast came with the stay, with a big range of hot and cold dishes. The check-in desk is on the second floor, so from street level you enter and take the elevator up. We stayed three nights last week while visiting the south of South Korea. The hotel is an easy walk from Dongdaegu’s transport hub, which worked well for our day trips to Busan and Gyeongju. I’d choose it again next time I’m in the area.

The best part was getting around. We arrived from Seoul by KTX and could pull all our luggage across the street, and there are several convenience stores plus a few good restaurants nearby. The room was clean, and they were quick to clean it when asked. I didn’t make it to breakfast, served from 7:30 to 9:00. Sound carries through the walls, though the hotel itself seemed pretty quiet.

The hotel feels new, and the staff were professional. The room was stylish but practical, with heated flooring, a big TV, and a proper desk. There’s a universal adapter outlet built into the wall, so I didn’t need to bring an adapter. The toilet seat is heated and fully automatic. Breakfast was a tasty spread with good quality food in the dining area. The price is a little above average, but I thought it was worth it.
