The Hanok & Spa

I had a fantastic time :)

The room has a lovely atmosphere, even though it’s a little dark, and the heated floor was warm. Staying in a Hanok house was a nice experience. Check-in is at The Style guesthouse, and when I arrived at night, a staff member met me outside the inn and kindly showed me around the annex. The shower room is spacious, the temperature is easy to adjust, and you can set the water pressure low or high. They also supplied towels. I couldn’t find the spa I’d imagined, though, so I’m not sure why “spa” is in the inn’s name. WiFi was slow at times, but that was my only other complaint. I’d definitely stay again (^ω^).

The bathroom was the main problem. It’s private, but outside the room, and the door has no lock, which felt unsettling and made showering or using the toilet inconvenient. The glass shower door has an invisible coating, but water still floods the area outside when you step out. A lock on the bathroom door would have helped. The mattress was also a bit hard. On the plus side, it’s clean, affordable, near the city center, and the staff are friendly. The shower pressure is great and hot water comes through well. The floor gets so warm it feels like melting. You can hear people in the next room, maybe because it’s a Hanok, but it quiets down after 10 PM, so that’s fine.

I didn’t expect this kind of place before arriving, but it turned out to be really, really cool. The Hanok-style rooms look out over the pool’s reflections, and sleeping there was a great experience. I was with a group of 10, each of us had our own room, and we could gather for drinks by the pool or take a midnight swim. The rates are a bit above those of a regular guesthouse room, but it’s worth considering if you have some extra budget.
