Daejeon Daesa Hotel Bus

The room was advertised as non-smoking, but it smelled so strongly of cigarettes that my clothes came home reeking and all had to be washed. There were cigarette butts outside the window, and the mattress had absorbed that stale smoke smell. I was with my child, a teenager with weak bronchial tubes, and the night was miserable. We kept the window open despite the cold and ran the bathroom fan all night, but the odor stayed. Every time I fell asleep I woke with a headache, and eventually slept in a mask. The smell was like an old basement karaoke bar or pub, and even thinking of it makes me nauseous. When I returned from dinner, I told the front desk the non-smoking room smelled far too much of smoke. They said guests must be sneaking cigarettes and that they couldn't move us because the hotel was full. They didn't offer to come check or even acknowledge how uncomfortable it was. I spent as little time in the room as I could and only stayed the one night. I'm extremely disappointed they put us in a room that felt like a smoking room.

I booked a party room for six, but only at check-in did they mention an extra charge for four people. No one had explained that for over a month. The bathroom is in really bad shape, and shower water splashes across the floor.

The floor heating was great, but there wasn't much else to like. The bed was cramped in a small room, and the sheets had red stains all over them, like someone had eaten on them. The tub was the small, deep, one-person kind you see in Japan. I don't plan to come back.

I was here four weekday nights for a training business trip, and the daily room cleaning, reasonable price, and little desk made it easy to rest and study. Hot water worked well, and the electric blanket kept the room from feeling cold. A bidet would be a useful addition.
