Daejeon Yuseong May Hotel

About three minutes from Yuseong Hotel Station, this motel offers really good facilities for the price. There's even an antique telephone, so I can see myself coming back often.

Easy access is a big plus, and there are snacks and drinks on the first floor. Even the basic rooms have a bathtub. The bedding and TV give the room a recently renovated feel, and you also get handy basics like a mini-fridge and air purifier. The beds are firm, which might not suit everyone. A reasonably priced place with a convenient location.

The bed is electric, so you can raise or lower the upper and lower parts. There's a bathtub but no bidet. I had booked a room with a stylist, but was told they were all occupied when I arrived and was given a massage-chair room instead. They didn't offer an upgrade, which usually happens when a booking gets changed like this. The building and facilities are old, the cigarette smell is strong, and the price isn't cheap.

I felt uneasy sleeping there after finding pubic hair on the pillow in my massage-chair room. It made me think the cleaning hadn't been done well. The room was cold in general, even with a heated mattress on the bed, and I couldn't sleep comfortably. The free self-service snack bar was a nice touch.
