Gaon Residence Hotel

The air conditioner was covered in what looked like fungus, and noise from the neighboring rooms carried easily. The sink drain was blocked, too. There was only one key. Something to think about before booking.

The rooftop view is gorgeous, and the place stays quiet. My room was clean, the elevator was quick, and the restaurant downstairs was delicious. There's a Mart nearby if you want to cook, since the room has a small kitchen and fridge. I'd definitely suggest staying here.

If you're staying in Daejon for a while and need somewhere more like a home than a hotel, this can work well, especially with a car. It's a bit far from things, though. The bus comes regularly, or you can take a long walk to Shinsegae. The room has everything, even a washing machine and stove. We got different directions from the morning and night managers about the key: take it along when you go out, but leave it at the desk at checkout. The desk staff member watches TV with headphones on, so sometimes it's hard to get his attention.

The room was clean and spacious, with lots of amenities. There was a problem with the air conditioning, but it got sorted out within a day.
