The location is excellent, but the cleanliness and staff performance fell short. The windows were noticeably dirty, and there was a strong sewer smell in the shower area. I’d rate this closer to three stars than five. Parking is difficult because the facilities are shared with the neighboring department store, so I recommend valet service. The whole experience was far below what I expected.

I’ve stayed here on every Korea trip for the past three years, ever since I was excited to see a five-star hotel open in Daejeon. This visit was with my mother, wife, and daughter, so we booked two rooms. After drinks with friends one evening, I went down hoping to have a cocktail at the hotel bar, but they said it was booked for a private event and turned me away. At the front desk, they suggested room service, so I tried that instead. The bar still refused the order, saying it couldn’t be done. In all my hotel stays, I’ve never run into something this unreasonable. Hotels usually try to accommodate guests, but all I got here was a dismissive “we’re sorry.” No one tried to find a solution or show that they valued their customers. I hardly ever write complaints, but this was frustrating enough to make me do it. It’s a shame, since Daejeon doesn’t have many hotels of this quality, and I doubt feedback like this will get much attention. I hope nobody else has the same experience, but I’d be cautious about booking here.

There’s a grand mall in the building with everything for shopping, and there’s also currency exchange inside. A riverbank nearby is good for morning exercise and running. Uber and taxis can reach the gate, and the room service was nice. The staff were polite and cooperative, and the hospitality was good. Best hotel in Deajeon. I love South Korea, the Korean people, Dajeon and Seoul. I hope to visit again next time. Thanks a lot!

After hiking at nearby Gyejoksan Mountain, we spent the night at Hotel Onoma and were very pleased. We made use of the pools and saunas: there’s a warm pool to sit in and a traditional lap pool, plus wet and dry saunas with amazing views and a tranquil feel. After all that relaxing, room service was a welcome treat, and the high-quality bed made for refreshing sleep. The staff made us feel at home from the start. The valet greeted us warmly, the concierge helped us to reception, and the professional reception staff upgraded us to a corner room with a lovely river and city view. Breakfast at Town House was phenomenal, with an East meets West mix that had something for every palate. We’ll definitely return and recommend it to other travelers.
