We picked this place to try an ondol room, where you lay thick blankets on the floor, and because it was near the beach. It was my first stay in that traditional style, and the ondol was comfortable. We slept well. The exterior has been remodeled, though inside some things felt dated. Our room was clean and well dusted, and the sheets smelled nice. There’s a small elevator and it worked fine. Like other Korean motels and hotels, Coco Hotel provides skin essence, moisturizer, hair gel and spray, plus a packet with a shaver, toothbrushes, facial wash, feminine wash and even a condom. The bathroom was roomy, the water pressure was good, and both hot and cold water worked well. There’s a jacuzzi tub too.

The grandmothers who seemed to run the place were very kind. We paid about 150,000 won for two nights for three people on a weekday. It felt like good value, with the beach close enough to walk to and the famous bakery Daiso nearby. The building and interior are old, but the blankets were soft and had no smell. Water pressure was strong, and they gave us plenty of towels whenever we asked.

Wi-Fi worked well, and the price seemed reasonable. I paid 40,000 won for a stay, or 80,000 won for a two-day business trip. The outside looks remodeled, but the inside seems not to have been. It was so-so for value, and there was a bit of a cigarette smell. Just a heads-up ^^

There were lots of mosquitoes, and the large bottles of body products were dirty and unusable. Breakfast wasn't available because of COVID-19, but they still charged the full rate with no discount or adjustment. The facilities felt like a motel, despite it being called a hotel, and the room rate was outrageous. Had I known, I would've paid 50,000 won for a night at a motel instead, and the quality would've been much better. This was the worst value for money. I won't return or recommend it.

The place is clean and all the staff are friendly, even though the facilities are a little old. A remodel would make it even better, so that's a bit disappointing.
