Gangneung Tourist Hotel

You can walk to the market from here, and there’s a GS25 convenience store nearby. They have local Gangneung beer, and the staff there were friendly enough to open it for me since there wasn’t an opener in the hotel room. The hotel itself is probably the best choice I can think of for a Gangneung visit: the rooms are quite large for the price, clean, and have great views, and the staff are friendly.

The room was extremely spacious, and the shower was hot and strong, just what you want after a day of sightseeing. The amenities are basic but useful, including a nice dental and razor kit, and the staff were helpful. There are plenty of shops, places to eat, convenience stores, cafés, and the local market nearby.

There are restaurants all over the back roads near the hotels, and the market (market) is just a few blocks away for street food. I’m glad I chose this place over a hotel near the beach, since it’s close to everything you want and need in Gangneung. The room was clean and spacious, with a fairly large TV. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it.

We could hear the neighbors having fun at night because the room wasn’t really soundproof, and there was also a slight smell in the room. Otherwise, it’s a comfortable, well-located hotel in the center near the shopping streets. The rooms are spacious, the beds are OK, and breakfast upstairs was nice and plentiful.
