Being so close to Jeongdongjin Station, known as the train station nearest the ocean, makes this landmark easy to reach. The park grounds are lovely, and the revolving sky lounge is a fun feature. But the main draw is the experience itself: a huge ship perched on a cliff, with incredible views over the water. One of the most unusual hotels anywhere.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, though parts of the interiors felt a little dated, and the service was good but not exceptional. Since the hotel is somewhat remote, it’s best to sort out transportation ahead of time. What makes the stay memorable is the cruise ship design on top of a hill and those stunning sea views. It’s peaceful around there, a nice break from the city and a great place for photos. For the best views, try the observation deck early in the morning or around sunset.

I’d have happily stayed 2 nights and 3 days. There are places to walk, nearby attractions and restaurants, and plenty of chances to take photos and videos. Even out of season, when you can’t swim, the surroundings are beautiful for a stroll. The views are striking both day and night, and sunrise and sunset feel like an extra gift. The hotel has a reputation as one of the “world’s must-visit unique hotels,” and I can see why. It’s easy to get to by car or public transport, and has a lot of visual appeal, especially for anyone who enjoys Instagram-worthy places. My one disappointment was the reception staff. Their cold, indifferent, dismissive manner felt unpleasant and unexpected, particularly after traveling widely.

I only visited for the day, but the view was honestly among the best I’ve seen. The beach far below the cliff is breathtaking, and the hotel sits right at the edge overlooking the vast East Sea. Even without staying overnight, the scenery alone makes it 100% worth a visit. Highly recommend!
