Gadulgi Garden Pension

There’s quite a bit of space, with one family bed, a living room, a main bedroom, and two bathrooms, plus a small kids’ cafe jungle gym and an indoor pool about the size of a public bath hot tub. The kitchenware was relatively clean, and used towels could be swapped at the management office. The management office convenience store had very few items. For barbecue, they use an electric grill, starting at 20,000 won with extra charges on top. The facilities were in poor shape. Some door handles had fallen off, the pool handles were rusty, and the chlorine smell was overwhelming. The ventilation fan didn’t work, and humidity inside was over 70%. There was only one window near the entrance, so there wasn’t a way to air the place out. A dehumidifier was available, but it still felt damp. The air conditioner remote didn’t work, so I had to start it manually, and it smelled bad. The beds and bedding were damp and not clean, even though there wasn’t enough bedding.

The photos came out really well, but the indoor area didn’t feel very clean. The pool is only open for a short window, from 3 PM to 8 PM, which was disappointing. They also don’t provide separate pool masks, so you can’t follow the disease prevention guidelines.

I stayed in the Nadia room and tried the pool. It was comfortable to use the whirlpool without any restrictions, the water was hot, and the heating worked so well I thought I still had my jacket on. The pension is at the very end of the area along the flower path, so getting around by car could be inconvenient. Cleaning didn’t seem thorough either. Someone had left kimchi and ssamjang in the fridge, and there was dust all over the top of it.

My child loved the place and already says they want to return. We chose it because the COVID situation kept them from going swimming elsewhere. I was a bit worried after seeing some low-rated reviews, but I liked the facilities when we arrived. There was a little mold between the tiles, probably from continued hot-water use, but the property was otherwise very well maintained.
