The valley opens up right in front of the pension, and there's a foot volleyball court and karaoke room. The barbecue, with charcoal and firecrackers, was just right, and the owner was friendly. The rooms aren't especially fancy, but it's a great setup for a guys' trip with grilling and hanging out. I'd go again if I get the chance to visit Gapyeong with friends.
There's a stream right outside, and the entrance to Un'aksan Mountain is close enough to walk to. Convenience stores, cafes, and restaurants are all within a five-minute drive, and the owner is very friendly. The pension seemed fairly sanitary, though the building itself is outdated.
I'd recommend staying somewhere else.
