Samsung Hotel Geoje

There are a few restaurants within walking distance. The larger rooms in building 2 are newer, though the standard room I had another time in B1 was also clean and well maintained. I was surprised to learn at check-in from reception that the minibar drinks were free, even though the fridge had a price list.

This is a business-oriented hotel built mainly to host Samsung Yards guests and events.

The staff were all wonderful, and the dinner restaurant was nice. I had phat Thai one night and beef bulgogi another, and both were excellent without being too sweet. I would've preferred more vegetables and less fish in the banchan, but that's just my taste. The rooms are nice, and they have family rooms too. The morning buffet didn't impress me, most of the food was bland or overcooked, and the coffee was so bitter it was unpleasant. Our room also didn't have much hot water. I don't know if they were conserving energy or if something was wrong, but with the heat and humidity, I didn't mind too much at the time.

The best part of this hotel is the friendly staff, who are always willing to help with what you need. It's clean, close to the Shipyard, and the rooms are large and comfortable. A standard hotel with a restaurant and bar lounge, and a good choice for a Samsung Shipyard project. The town, with lots of restaurants and pubs, is about a 20-minute walk away.
