The Ocean Residence

The owner's hospitality was a highlight, and I enjoyed staying here. The hotel has an older look, but I liked its style. My room had a nice view over the water with fishing boats, though the ocean view varies by room. It was spacious for two, with plenty of furniture and useful things like a coat rack, drawers, microwave, and built-in induction cooktop. There were also combs, basic skincare, hairspray, and bug spray. Two built-in AC units plus a standing one kept the room cool, and the room's own Wi-Fi router gave a strong signal. The beds were comfortable and clean. The bathroom was roomy, with both a tub and shower. Each time we left, they replenished two water bottles and two instant coffee sticks, a nice touch. You can call the front desk from the room phone, and staff answered quickly and handled requests fast. Breakfast is served free in the cafeteria each morning, with juice, milk, cereal, bacon, sausage, and the like. Nothing special, but enough. There's also a 24-hour convenience store accessible from the lobby, and nearby restaurant food can be delivered. The gym was surprisingly nice, with a few treadmills and weight machines. There is a small laundry room too, but I didn't try the machines, so I can't say how well they work or whether they cost anything. There didn't seem to be many of them. The hotel is right by the water, which I liked, though I don't think you can reach it on foot. The surrounding area didn't feel family-friendly, with lots of fishy karaoke places. Parking was a hassle because spaces are limited, so you pretty much have to use the street.
