High One Condo Valley Condo

The room and bathroom were clean, and the condo is right across from High1 Ski Resort, which makes it easy to bring your gear over. Self check-in and check-out are convenient too. Restaurants, a sauna, and a convenience store are nearby, and there are dishes and utensils for making simple meals. Extra towels cost 1,000 won each, and there’s an extra charge for another blanket.

The Valley Condo was great for a first ski trip, especially since it’s close to the resort. I had a lot of fun skiing for a night, even though I took lessons and fell a few times. I’d definitely like to go again and stay here.

Valley Condo is the smallest and lowest of the three High1 condos. Mountain Condo is the biggest at the top, with Hill Condo between the two. A gondola connects all three, and riding it around for free is fun. There’s a town just below Valley, so shops are easy to find, but outside ski season there aren’t many guests and the restaurants close. The convenience stores sometimes have food that’s past its expiry date, which is a shame. I took the photo from the living room veranda in unit 427. The TV is at least 60 inches, and instead of the wall-mounted air conditioner shown on the High1 website, the room actually has a newer stand-alone one that cools well. If you don’t need breakfast or care much about amenities, it’s good value.

The fridge worked well, and otherwise the place was good for skiing. There was no microwave, though, and recycling was a hassle. Our room also had a slightly musty feel, and we smelled strong cigarette smoke every day during our stay.
