The breakfast buffet was fine, with the usual hot and cold choices, though neither the quality nor the variety stood out. The lobby made a much better impression, with plenty of light, space, and high ceilings. In the room, warm lighting felt cosy, but the décor and layout fell short of what we've seen at other five-star hotels. I heard that several people in our tour group had room problems, though I can't confirm what happened or how serious it was. The stay was pleasant enough and covered the basics, but I didn't feel it reached the level I associate with a five-star rating. The room presentation and food could both be improved.

For a trip to KINTEX, the location right across from it makes this a handy business hotel, and there’s a Starbucks inside as well. I had a spacious Superior Twin Room with a complimentary minibar, and the bedding was comfortable. The breakfast buffet had lots of options and tasted good. Sono Calm is a large five-star property with East and West wings. I stayed two nights and would come back for another KINTEX visit, though it’s less convenient for sightseeing.

I was told the West Tower had no air conditioning running because it was winter, so I had to move to the East Tower, which did have it. But that tower didn’t offer my room type, and I was downgraded. The price difference was about 45,000 KRW, and they wouldn’t refund any of it. When I first checked in, the room had no air conditioning.

The buffet was very nice, and the room and amenities were good. The hotel uses high-quality materials, too. I’d stay here again next time.

I was put up here by the airline for an overnight layover. The room was comfortable and had most of what I needed for an unexpected stay. The front desk got me checked in quickly and was helpful. They even called my room to tell me the shuttle times for the airport the next morning.
