Hwadam Inn - Hostel

The staff were so kind, and the place was cheap and clean. I found a comfortable place to stay for my trip, thank you. A taxi from Gunsan Station costs around 7,000 won. I highly recommend it!

The soft futon was wonderful in the Japanese tatami room. I liked the place so much I wanted to book all the accommodations. The building dates back to the Japanese colonial era, and staying here felt truly unique. It's clean and quiet, with a spotless bathroom and kitchen. The shower room is separate.

The bedding was cozy, and I slept soundly. The mattress didn't hurt my back, and the blackout curtains helped a lot. The old wooden Hwadam Inn has a comforting incense smell when you walk in. I tried the shared shower and bathroom during a quiet time, so there was no crowd. It was my first time seeing a shower with foam cleansing foam, and I noticed the thoughtful details around the facility. Breakfast is free and simple, with eggs, toast, and cereal.

Everything was tidy, and the facilities seemed almost new from how well they were kept. The individual light and outlet were handy. Jangmi Restaurant is just down the side street, and there's also an E-Mart convenience store not far away. Free breakfast comes with toast, cornflakes, eggs, and drinks. There was a comment about the stylish owner being unpleasant, but I only paid and rested, and didn't see them before I left, haha. It's not a private room, so if other people around you would bother you, a hotel may be a better fit. They provide earplugs, but they won't block snoring, unfortunately. Just follow the staff-only facility rules and the other instructions. Nice touch with the non-slip pad above the toilet paper for your phone!
