The N Resort Hotel & Spa

We only stayed one night, and that was enough. The hotel felt worn and quiet, like low season, but our room was very spacious and the bed was comfortable. We had beef barbecue in one of the outdoor pods, which was a fun change. The meat was very good, though the sides were a bit skimpy. There’s a handy supermarket in the foyer for things like ice cream and wine. I didn’t try the spa.

It’s a long way from Seoul, but Yangyang is easy to reach by car via the highway. The hot springs were quite good, and the bathing facilities were easy to use.

Bring extra money, since nothing seems to be included. The pool costs 77.000 won per person per day, and the hot pools add another 22.000. The music in the shared spaces was loud, cheap-sounding pop and techno that was painful to listen to. Cars were parked all over, making the resort feel more like a huge parking lot and seem dangerous if you have small kids. It definitely wasn’t a relaxing place for me, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

I was here for work, and Yang Yang province deserves more recognition.
