Top Cloud Hotel Gunsan

Clean and reasonably priced.

The bedding was clean and in good shape, and the room was comfortable for a night's stay even though it wasn't very big. They use the space well. Parking was very spacious, and the desk staff gave excellent service. It's not ideal if you want to walk everywhere, but Susong-dong and Lotte Mall are about 5-10 minutes away by car. Some towels were worn, and a few smelled a bit when they weren't fully dry. That could be improved. Still, I was satisfied with my stay.

The lounge had ice and coffee, plus a microwave guests could use, and I liked those conveniences. The hotel felt like a typical hotel otherwise. My issue was the room size listed for the room I bought. It was advertised as 36 m², or 11 pyeong, and the hotel's details also listed options of 36 m² and 39 m², or 11 and 12 pyeong. But the rooms I saw looked only about 20-22 m² at most, nowhere near those figures. I checked the website and other details after I was surprised, and kept finding the same advertised sizes. I didn't realize there could be such a discrepancy. This is misleading for consumers, and the area information should be accurate, especially since both local and overseas visitors may choose this hotel when they come to Gunsan. If the size had been listed correctly, I wouldn't have had a problem. I don't understand why hotels keep reporting room areas that don't match the actual rooms, or how they can continue operating with those inaccurate figures. If the room size weren't an issue, I would recommend the hotel.

We stayed one night as a family of two adults and one child in a family twin room, and I'd come back to this hotel in Gunsan. The front desk staff were kind, spoke gently, and helped us with early check-in. It was quiet even in the middle of the day, perhaps because the hotel is near an apartment complex, which made it a relaxing place. The room was large and very clean, and the bathroom and shower were both satisfying. There wasn't a bad drain smell or water staining, and even details like the window frames, headboard, mini-fridge top, and desk looked cleaned. All rooms are non-smoking, so ours had no stale smell. There also aren't any harmful motels nearby, which makes it a good choice for families with kids. The hotel has only two stars, but to me it felt more like a three- or four-star stay. There was plenty of parking outside, and good restaurants, a large Hanaro Mart, convenience stores, and more were all within walking distance. Free coffee beans were available beside the first-floor front desk. Across from it, the cafeteria had a machine for making Americano or espresso, as well as a microwave for heating food bought nearby.
