I’m literally shaking right now. In all the cities I’ve visited in South Korea, staying at different guesthouses and hostels, this is the first place where I’ve felt this unsafe. I don’t think it’s safe for women traveling alone. The staff member, an older man, doesn’t respect privacy. He came into the room without asking and started cleaning and vacuuming. I’d just finished working, which was fortunate since I work remotely. He did the same thing yesterday and I didn’t react, but then he came in again today without asking. I could have been changing clothes.

The location is a real plus: very central, convenient, and surrounded by nice restaurants and shops. The room was comfortable for the price, and everything seemed new and clean. I’d suggest having someone at the front desk. There usually wasn’t anyone there, so I didn’t know who to ask if I needed water.

Mr Ha was very kind, friendly, and helpful, and his wife at the front desk was hospitable too. The guesthouse felt just like a hotel. It’s near most of the downtown hotspots, with easy access to ACC. I recommend staying here.

There’s a coffee shop downstairs on the first floor, and guests get a discount. The guesthouse is near downtown Gwangju, in a quiet area with a few restaurants nearby. The rooms were clean and spacious enough, and for a budget trip it’s well worth the price.

The metro station is right next door, which makes getting around easy. The rooms were clean, the staff were helpful, and there’s a shared kitchen on the second floor.
