I’m still shaken by what happened yesterday. The property owner or caretaker threatened and frightened me. He seemed possibly drunk, and I felt he was racist toward foreigners. I got myself to safety by calling the police. I had to involve both the police and Agoda. Please be careful about staying here, especially if you’re a foreigner or a woman. I don’t feel this place or its owner is safe.

As a customer, I won’t accept threats or mistreatment. A caretaker, receptionist, or property owner shouldn’t behave this way, especially when my safety and other people’s safety are involved. Being a foreign woman doesn’t mean I should feel intimidated by your guesthouse. I promote tourism in Korea, and I also feel it’s my responsibility to speak up when tourists are treated unjustly. Since people’s safety is at stake, there will be a police investigation.

The room was really clean, and they served a simple breakfast. We stayed two nights in a room for four. It was easy to get around: there’s a bus to Damyang, and the stop for central Gwangju is less than a minute away. There are also lots of amenities nearby. The host was very kind and shared plenty of helpful information. I’d stay here again on my next trip to Gwangju.

The host was really unfriendly. The facilities were clean, but cramped, and the bed was too small. Getting around from nearby was easy, but the sewage smell was strong.
