Gwangju Sangmu Shilla

There was plenty of room for the two of us, and the all-you-can-drink juice was a nice extra. It was our first time staying in a motel, so we booked a twin room since we were two girls. We were only there to sleep, and it was about 75,000 won per room. Pretty good, lol.

The building feels a little old, but that didn’t bother me much. The TV and PC connect for use, there’s a kettle, and the refrigerator seemed roomier than at other motels. Separate hangers were my favorite detail. Valet parking is available: call the front desk five minutes before checkout to have them move your car, or go down and ask. Some reviews mention cigarette odor; it can come from someone smoking in a neighboring or downstairs room, or from a previous guest. Smoking is allowed in this building, so keep that in mind. For the price it seems decent, and booking through Yanolja can be a little cheaper.

The exterior and interior left me a bit unsure, hmm. Still, there’s a memory foam mattress, parking was convenient with valet service, and drinks and toast are available on the first floor. The hot water worked well, and the separate powder room was great. It’s the largest room in Line 8. I stayed in a secluded spot, so I can’t really say how good the soundproofing is.

There are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby, which makes it handy if you’re out late. Parking is convenient, and the place was quite clean. It’s good value for money, though I wouldn’t call it anything especially special.
