Best Western Plus Gyeong ju

We were able to drive to restaurants and cafes nearby, and a short trip to Gampo-ri gave us a choice of seafood places frequented by locals, with fresh seafood at more reasonable prices. Parking was free, either underground or in the lot in front of the lobby, though that lot has limited spaces. The hotel has two main pools with water slides and draws a lot of families with children. After a day visiting historical sites around Kyongju, we stayed here for a night because it was near the ocean. The room was comfortable and the hotel was in good condition, so the stay was satisfactory overall. Staff service was decent, and they offered a discount on the breakfast buffet when we checked in.

Everything in the room was clean, from the bed and pillows to the amenities, and the service was kind. I stayed in a seaside room and could watch the sunrise from bed. The film-coated window also kept the glare from getting too strong. I’d like to come back in summer.

The room was extremely small, and the design throughout the hotel was poor. The rooftop had no view and no amenities, even though it could have been a great place to watch the sunrise. The Wi-Fi was weak and only available in the room, not in the common areas. The bar felt like it had been put in a corner just so the hotel could claim to have one. I visited in mid-January, when most of the hotel was closed, including the convenience store. Even though the hotel was nearly empty, the front desk insisted we had to stay in the room next to the elevator because that was our assigned room, and said they couldn’t change it. The staff were very unattractive. I’ll never return, and now I remember why I don’t usually stay at a Ramada Inn.

The sea is right in front of the hotel and the view is lovely. The room was in good condition and very clean, but there was no toothbrush or toothpaste, even though it’s a hotel. The bed was so uncomfortable that I slept badly for all three days...😭
