Gyeongju Hidden Valley Pension

All night, noise and drinking from the guests in the room above kept us from sleeping. The room and bedding were extremely damp and uncomfortable. I think the boiler should be switched on from time to time to get rid of the moisture. I never want to go through that again.

The pool hours were pretty short. We checked in in the afternoon, could use it from 3 until before 7 that evening, and couldn't use it the next morning. Still, it was nice to barbecue, and the place was clean despite being old. We hadn't stayed in a pension with our grown-up kids in a long time.

The owner was friendly, and the rules were mostly basic things we could keep in mind ourselves. The family room for four felt too cramped for the price, and the layout wasn't what I'd hoped for. There were no closets, so we had nowhere to put our clothes and everything got wet. The BBQ area was cramped too. The shower pressure was very low and its head was broken, and basic toiletries, the bed, and other amenities were lacking. We had an okay time, but really just slept there. Hard to see myself coming back, though people looking to book a pension will book anyway.

The one thing I missed was a frying pan. Otherwise, the room was clean, the owners were friendly, and I got a good rest. It was handy being near Blue One and Gyeongju World, and having a pool at the pension meant we could keep having fun after going to Blue One.
