Lahan Select Gyeongju

The staff were friendly, and the room was clean with lovely scenery, especially the lake view. Still, the service didn’t feel like what I’d expect from a 5* hotel. Nobody was there to help with bags on arrival, check-in took a 20-minute wait in a queue, and the next morning we queued 30 minutes to be seated for breakfast. Access to facilities like the swimming pool also costs extra. The breakfast was good, though the selection wasn’t very large. In winter, the hotel doesn’t let you lower the room temperature using the AC. Ours stayed at 25 degrees, so we had to leave the windows open all night. The staff were fortunately still very friendly.

The lake walkway right by the hotel was lovely, and the view from the elevator was amazing. We also tried the sauna, which was very clean. Breakfast was really good, with Korean and American dishes, and the hotel has such a lovely smell. I know the room gets hot in winter, but we had a great time and loved the hotel.

From our room, we had a lovely sunset view. The location was perfect too, with all the amenities close by.

The lake views are great, and the lobby looked nice with its Christmas decorations. Breakfast had plenty of variety and was good quality. The room itself was minimalistic. Getting around takes some planning. There aren't restaurants nearby apart from those in other hotels, so you'll need to travel to the main town for meals. The heritage sites and tombs are about 15-20 minutes away by taxi, which is manageable if you're out all day, but not convenient for popping back and forth. In winter, the heating was set around 24-25 degrees and felt much too warm. We couldn't adjust it. Staff suggested opening the balcony door, which seemed like a waste of energy, and the room still felt hot.
